Fall

One thing I love about Utah is that it has 4 distinct seasons, and I love the colors of fall! So, yesterday we drove up the canyon to check out the changing colors and the boys collected some leaves. We went up to a lake that has a walking trail around it, so we made the trek. It was a beautiful trip!
I wish my camera could do views justice! The boys loved running along the trail

Then, today, we did a little project with our leaves. Carson liked putting his face throough the circle. He is so stinkin' cute!

First smiles.....

one of my favorite things in the whole wide world!

Oh Carson!

I told him lunch was ready, and he couldn't get out of that stroller fast enough! He is my food lover! He said "wedy?"
and I said, "yep it's ready"
and he replied, "Otay". Oh, that is my favorite little phrase of his...."otay". He says it so cute!

Then, last night, as the boys were getting ready for bed. I hear a little rumble in the bathroom and Colby comes in and says, "Mom, I think Carson is really stuck!" So I hurry in there and this is what I saw:

So, do I, promptly, rescue my distraught little boy from the wet, gross toilet?......no I run to get the camera, so I can record this photo op! Man, I am a terrible mother but, gosh, do I love this kid!

The Smallest Things

Colby's preschool is in the basement of his teacher's house. Love it! She is awesome. Anyway, She lives toward the end of a cul de sac. Every time I drop him and his buddy off for school, as I am driving away I have noticed a frail, little, old lady sitting in her house right in front of a big picture window, just looking out at the world. After a few days of observing her, I decided that I was going to wave to her every time I see her as I am driving away. So, I have done it the past few times with no physical response. Now, I don't know her situation or health status, but I sure hope she can see me. Even if she can't wave back, I hope it makes her smile inside. How great is it when someone just gives you a smile or wave? I love it! Even the smallest things like that can make us so happy and brighten our day. Our society seems to easily disregard the elderly, especially when they aren't our grandparents or relatives. But this woman, like all elderly people, is a human being and has lived a life. She had her first day of kindergarten, graduation from High School, wedding, and probably drove her kids to Preschool, just like I am doing now. And, hopefully, someday when I have lived my life and am old and frail, I sure hope people will still wave to me as I watch the outside world from my picture window.

It's How It Sounds...

When Josh was first born this is how Colby thought his name was spelled:

Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

I Am A Fashion No No!

Oh, can I just say that the post baby body is not my favorite thing! It always takes me a while to lose the baby weight, therefore I don't fit in much at all. And then with my c-section incision still tender I have to wear comfortable pants, so what have I resorted to wearing? I am ashamed to say......my husbands pants. I know, I know, that is so not ok. Stacey and Clinton would be shrieking at the thought (their are from the show "What Not To Wear", for those that are wondering). This is the stage where I stick close to home and try to hide from the world, so they don't see me and all my post pregnancy glory. I am so in the #2 stage, although, I wish I looked that good! And I hear it is harder after your third to lose the weight? Is this true? If only I could be like the stars and have a personal trainer to whip me back into shape. Me oh my, I hope this goes by fast and I can get into some of MY pants again. Please?!

Since Lipo is not an option, what works for you in losing the baby weight? I would love to know!

Update

So, an update on my "Como, Say What?" post. Nate's Aunt Shelley has heard of Screamers Callous. Her daughter had when she was young. So good to know it really exists. Thanks Shelley!

Where Is The Humility?

While my sister Rhonda was here, she and Colby were sitting at the piano playing. Colby was showing off his playing abilities (which consists of twinkle, twinkle little star) and then he stopped at one point and said, "this is the part where you say good job". Is there a such thing as over praising your kids? I think Colby needs to eat a slice of humble pie and we need to find a happy medium. He is just a crack up!

Como Say What?

Joshua has a unique, two-toned cry. It is like his cry is hitting two different notes at the same time. Well, the pediatrician suggested Joshua see a Specialist. Today was the day to see the specialist. They put a scope through his nose to look at his throat. Oh my! Poor little Joshua. Good thing he is too young to be permanently mentally damaged for life! The Doc didn't see anything constricting his airway or anything serious. Phew! But he did say he saw some mucous and some, as he phrased it, "screamers callous". He says you see it mostly in 2 year olds from screaming and in singers. Okay, so how does a newborn have something like this??? He said that it could have just been the mucous broken up instead of callouses. Ok. Basically it is nothing to worry about and is nothing serious and will go away. They want to see him again in 4 months just to make sure all is well. So, curious as I was about what he said, I came home and looked up "screamers callous" on the internet and found absolutely nothing! I tried to find something about his unusual cry and found nothing! So what is it??? Did the Specialist have his own lingo? While I do appreciate them and the work they did for my sweet little baby, I can't help but say...."Como, say what???" So my question is.......has anyone heard of this before?? Or does our Joshua have some completely rare, but actually cool cry? Oh baby Joshua we love you and your two-toned cry! And your daddy is right, you are going to make an awesome lead singer when you are older!
