Here We Are

It has been a week since my last post, so I thought I would enter a new one. We made it here and my sister has been a gracious host, letting our little family take over her home. The weather has been sunny and on the warmer side, so we are loving that! It has been good to be near my parents. We are off to go see my mom right now.

Colby and I did take a trip to the InstaCare yesterday. He has a double ear infection. Poor guy! :(
I feel for him. But he is on the mend.

And I didn't bring any maternity clothes but am noticing that my pants that fit las week are getting quite tight! Might have to do a little shopping while I am here. Such a bummer! :)

Thank you Neal and Carol for taking care of our home while we are away. We love you!

Washington, Here We Come!

Well, we are off for the long drive to Wash. this afternoon. We are going to have a good long stay there with my mom and family. Nate's work is allowing him to work remotely from up there. What a blessing!
I just have to share my gratitude for my counselors in the Primary and the Bishop (who, I know don't read this). What wonderful, understanding people they are for letting this work for me and my family. I really do have the best Presidency. Those ladies rock! And I love them so much for being such a great support. And for being so willing to just step up and fill in so that I can do what I need to do for my mom. And for Nate, whose idea this was. What an amazing man and husband. He knows how important it is for me and the boys to spend this time with my mom. And he found a way to make that happen and still keep our little family intact. I am truly blessed!
Family have been great as well. Thank you everyone who have given me support and prayers for my mom. It means so much.
Nate and I really feel that going up to be with my mom is the right thing to do right now. It will be hard uprooting our family for an extended period of time, but worth the time we will get with my mom and the boys' Nana. This is time we will never get back. I am so grateful for the institution of families and the GREAT importance they play in our lives.

16 hours in the car, 2 toddlers, and a pregnant woman......WISH US LUCK!!

On A Personal Note

My mom's Cancer has spread quite a bit and she is not doing well. They want to do more Chemo, but my mom just can't even think about feeling any worse than she already does. (I can't blame her one bit!) Things are not looking good. As you can imagine, this has been consuming my thoughts and emotions lately. I love her so much. It is a sad time for me and my family.
The theme in Primary this year is "I am a child of God" and last month we talked about Heavenly Father having a plan for us. I can't tell you how much comfort this knowledge gives me at this extremely hard time in my life. I know that this is Heavenly Father's plan for my mom. He loves us and never makes any mistakes with his children or his plan for them. I love the Gospel and know that it is true! I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and my mom. I know that he has a specific plan for her. I know that he knows us better than we know ourselves. I know that I will be able to be with my mom again. This is not the end. What incredible comfort and peace this gives me. I can't be grateful enough for that.
I am grateful for family and the strength that comes from the support of one another.

My Colby

So the past week or so the topic of President Hinckley's death has been ongoing in our home. Colby keeps asking questions about why and I tell him that he was 97 and his body just got so tired. Well, the ponderer and thinker he is came back the next day and said, "Mom, I don't want to turn 97."
Gosh, I love that kid!!! He just makes me smile.
