Music

Nate has always teased me about my love and knowledge of music. Let me explain.....I have always LOVED music. I guess I feel like it touches me in so many ways, depending on the music. I LOVE to listen to the radio and love all types of music! Well, when Nate and I were first dating and we would be driving somewhere and a song came on, I would tell him what grade I was in when the song came out ,what was going on in my life, and who was in my life at that time. So now he teases me and will often ask me "what grade?" when a song comes on. Songs evoke memories and feelings I had at that time when the song was popular. I will hear a song and immediately know how old I was when it came out and I can immediately feel the exact way I did at that time in my life, and the people that were in my life at that time. Weird, I know. But I love it! It helps me remember experiences and the way I was feeling about those experiences. I am grateful for my love of music and how it speaks to me, even if Nate thinks I am crazy :)! Does anyone else have this same experience with music? Or am I just a freak!

Carson's Bday Pics and Then Some

Here are some pics I put together from Carson's Bday. I was inspired by the awesome collages that Audra puts together. Too bad mine doesn't hold a candle to hers! :)

As you can see, I am never satisfied with the look of my blog. As you can tell, I am constantly changing it! Someday I will like it and not have to mess with it anymore!

I do have to say to Jessi that I went and saw "Hairspray" and absolutely LOVED it too!!!! I highly recommend it. It is so much FUN! My mom and I got to go together this last weekend while she was in town and she totally loved it too!!! I would see it again in a heartbeat. In fact, it is one I want to own when it comes out on DVD. From the first scene you are just happy and having fun!

Snake River

Last week we spent the week in Jackson Hole and the M* Family cabin in Idaho. I will have to post more details later, but we rafted the Snake River while we were there. It was a BLAST! Colby even did it with us, which made his Dad SO proud! He did awesome! Here are some pics from hitting the "Big Kahuna" (the biggest rapid on the river trip).

If you look closely, you can see Colby bunkered down next to me.
