Colby and Carson

I walked into Carson's room and this is what I saw. Colby had climbed into Carson's crib to play with him. Too funny!

Carson peering from under his bumper pad. I thought it was so cute!

Nate was resting on the grass, so Colby had to follow suit. He wants to be just like his daddy. Smart kid!

Here are some letters Colby drew. I am really impressed with it. You can make out some much better than others, but he is getting really good! He LOVES to learn, especially his letters and numbers!

Ode to the Unfinished Yard

Yesterday Nate and I worked on our back and side yard getting it ready for sod. Nate rented a tractor and moved some dirt around. So, now I think we are ready for sod next weekend. Hallelujah! It will be so nice to have grass! I planted my first flowers in our front and they are starting to pop up. I am so excited! I can't wait to see them bloom. I have never had a green thumb, but am starting to get the bug. I am really liking it. It is fun to think about what you can do and create in your yard. Nate is amazing and has worked so hard on it. I am so grateful to him. He is a hard worker, and I love him for that! I will have to post pics when we get it completed.

Nate went snowmobiling this last week and here is a picture of him. He looks pretty darn good!

Old Friends, Old Times

I had the opportunity of talking to my childhood best friend today, who I don't get to talk to very often. It got me thinking about all the friends I have had and all the people that have been in my life. I believe that the experiences you have shape the person you are and are becoming. And that people are placed in your life at certain times for very important reasons. It is so fun to look back and remember all the different experiences I have had and the people who have blessed my life and helped me become who I am today. There are experiences that were so hard at the time they were happening, but as I look back I see how it changed, strengthened, or guided me to where I needed to be. I am grateful for everyone I have had the opportunity to know!

Goodbyes

Yesterday we took my mom to the airport ,who had been visiting for about 3 weeks. We love it when she comes, so it was no fun to see her go. We arrived to the airport and I got out of the car to help get the luggage out and say goodbye. When I got back into the car to drive away, Colby was crying and I said
"What's wrong Colby?" and he said,
"I feel sad...I don't want Nana to go on the airplane." My heart just broke for him. It made me cry too. As we drove away, everytime he saw an airplane, he would say,
"Ooooh there goes Nana. I want Nana. I am so sad!" It was so tender to witness him expressing his emotions.
He is such a special, loving boy. I am so blessed to be his mother.

Lucky

In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I was thinking the things I am lucky or blessed to have:

The Gospel in my life
A husband that I admire more and more
Two beautiful boys
A home
A wonderful Family
Awesome In-laws
To be a Mother
A healthy body
Good friends
To be an American
To serve

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Giving It A Try

I thought I would give blogging a try. It is fun to read Crystal's and Abbis. So...here I go!

Speaking of "giving it a try".....Nate and I have been trying to potty train our 3 year old. Yes, he is 3 yrs old and still working on being potty trained! There have been times when I just want to give up, and sometimes do. But lately, Colby has been doing really well at it. I am not a big fan of bribing my kids, but this is the one instance when I find it necessary! He still won't go on his own, but if we put him on he will go. It is so exciting to see your child succeed. It is amazing to see what we can accomplish and succeed at if we just give it a try!

We found out today that Nate's Brother, Chad has gotten engaged and will be getting married in June! We are so stinkin excited! Congrats to Chad and Abbi! And Abbi....Cox Rocks! We love you guys!
